Students from the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise CAFRE were on a whirlwind tour of Ireland's agri-food innovators this month. The students toured through agri-food enterprises across Meath, Louth and Dublin. The group also took in a tour at the Teagasc research centre in Ashtown.
There they gained insight into the scientific research which underpins Ireland’s agri-food innovation.
Many Teagasc researchers were there on the day showing the students their work with focus on reducing food waste and promoting circular economy solutions.
It’s great to see the next generation of agri students getting to experience the innovative agri-food sector businesses that exist today.
