Stalker was interested in a letter into The Guardian newspaper this month. The letter writer suggested that banknotes should depict flora and fungi, not just animals.
The Bank of England has got an opportunity to bring these vital species into the spotlight, according to Nicola Hutchinson, Chief executive of Plantlife International. You can read the letter elsewhere on these pages. Last year we had fungi on a Royal Mail stamp collection, so why not on the legal bills of tender? If only we could get some species on the specie too, that would be lovely.
