The news for the Irish mushroom exports contained in the latest Bord Bia figures for total Irish food exports was a mixed bag.
Horticulture and cereals exports increased marginally to €330 million in 2025. Mushroom exports to the UK, the primary market for Irish mushrooms, declined by 4% in volume terms, with higher prices helping to offset the decline and support a marginal increase in value to €155 million.
So lower volumes, but a slightly higher return due to price increases.
The percentage volume decrease is however significant.
