There was a report on the previous month's Mushroom Open Day at Loughgall.
Welcoming visitors to Loughgall Malcolm Dawson ( Head of Station) emphasised the importance of continued cooperation and collaboration with all sectors of the industry working together towards common goals.
Participants had presentations on research on strain instability of Agaricus bisporus; research on mushroom flies as vectors for pathogens and wee moulds; research on verticillium and bacterial blotch; and a look at thermophilic fungi and mushroom compost. It was all going on back in the day.
There were some choice anecdotes in the notes that month too - worth hoking out your old copy and having a peruse.
