In June 1985 the bumper 24 page issue of the magazine started with “The Boom To Come” - an item on how the mushroom industry was about to take off as consumer awareness around the benefits of eating mushrooms was sharply on the rise.
Con Sullivan the Mushroom Specialist at ACOT was writing on the expansion of the industry. Interesting to note that at that time exports of mushrooms from Ireland were around the IR£12 million mark - certainly expansion was ahead for the industry.
