OLD FARMING ADAGE

A Dictionary of Proverbs gives this  advice for weather effects during  May.

“A dry May is followed by a wet June” claims its typical agricultural adage.

May has an ominous reputation in the weather lore, and also in relation to matrimony. As the saying goes - “Marry in May you’ll rue it for aye.”

But sure who can count on any of the old spakes?

Ne'er cast that clout til this month be out? Ah go on.
