Stalker was interested in this wee snippet reported this month in The Times newspaper.
“A living building material made from fungus can repair itself, according to scientists. It uses the root-like mycelium of a fungus and bacteria cells. The American engineers behind it, whose results were published in the journal Cell Reports Physical Science, said it could offer a “sustainable alternative” to high-emission materials such as concrete.”
It’s another step toward the hit-tech mushroom built future Stalker suspects. In the U.K., a Newcastle University team is working on a fungus-based concrete alternative too. We’ll all be living in mushroom houses before too long!
