Crops throughout the UK have been delayed this year due to an exceptionally wet summer, with labour shortages , as a result of coronavirus and fewer foreign workers, also creating further bottlenecks for less automated parts of the industry, such as fruit and vegetable picking.
Some analysts are predicting large food price increases, come the autumn and winter this year.
