There were five new Ambassadors of the Mushroom Industry Awards awarded the coveted prize at the recent ChampignonDagen 2026.
The new ambassadors are: Mel O’Rourke (spawn / mushroom promotion), Dr Helen Grogan (research / crop protection), Gerard van de Wijdeven (mushroom production), Ger Hendriks (mushroom substrate) and Hans van den Boomen (mushroom grower).
To have two Irish Mushroom Industry notables awarded the honour is quite the achievement for them.
