Ireland’s largest mushroom producer Monaghan Mushrooms has signed a two-year deal with a Northern Ireland firm to provide off-shore software development support.

Belfast based Equiniti ICS, an IT and business process outsourcing firm, will deliver services from centres in Northern Ireland and India.




Noel Lynch, business development manager at Equiniti ICS explained the company's ability to deliver large scale projects was vital in securing the contract with Monaghan Mushrooms, which currently supplies fresh produce to retailers in Canada, the US and the UK and Ireland.
Mr Lynch said: "Outsourcing this software service delivers secure programming that increases company productivity and also reduces costs. We provide oversight and account management services for Monaghan Mushrooms here in Belfast while the technical elements are delivered by our team in India."

Cherian George of Monaghan Mushrooms, praised the flexibility of Equiniti ICS.
He said: "We needed systems that could deal with the tight turnaround times required to ensure we produced and delivered only the highest quality mushrooms. Having explored other off-shore options, we found that Equiniti ICS offered the best value and service."
